Chapter 2

DX-408/DX-408i Digital Key System Installation

Music Source Selection

You can connect an external music source such as a CD player or a radio to the MISC port of
the DX-408/DX-408i digital key system and use this music source for Hold and Background
music.

A music source selection jumper is on the baseboard of the DX-408/DX-408i system. You can
select an internal or an external music source using this jumper. Refer to Chapter 3 [Additional
Equipment Connection] in this manual for details of the music source selection jumper.

An approved LIU must be used when connecting an external music device to the
DX-408/DX-408i system.
