7.6.5 M-Bus
It is possible to connect up to three
M-Bus meters to the gateway. Go to the
'M-Bus' tab to configure this setting. The
meter configuration and settings can
also be performed in the SAM DISTRICT
ENERGY web portal.
These meters have a unique primary
address. The address is written in the
product documentation of the connected
meter. If the preset meter bus address is
unknown, a single meter connected to
the gateway can be assigned the meter
bus address 254. The address 0 or 255
deactivates the communication with the
respective meter.
The meter type is selected according to a classification of the M-Bus properties of the various
meters. In general, the default setting according to the requirements of EN 1434-3 remains
unchanged. The reading mode setting depends on the supply voltage of the meter
(battery/230 V) and the required refresh rate for the connection to the control system or web
portal. The refresh rate for the 'Continuous' reading mode is specified in seconds. We
recommend a reading mode of at least 15 minutes for battery-operated meters to ensure the
batteries last until the next battery change is prescribed.
Address Meter address at the meter bus (primary M-Bus address)
Meter configuration is deactivated by entering '255' as the address
or unchecking the associated box.
Type Type of the connected meter according to the classification of the
M-Bus properties
Reading mode The reading mode determines the polling interval at which the gate-
way requests meter consumption data.
Polling interval Frequency of meter readout
The frequency is specified in seconds.
