9.
REPAIR AND WITHDRAWAL FROM USE
9.1.
Repair
WARNING
Any maintenance and -adjustment work is allowed only after the motor has
stopped and the cutting disks have come to complete standstill; moreover,
wear protective gloves and appropriate tools.
Prior to any repair or service works the mower should be cleaned thoroughly and any grass,
dirt or mud removed.
While repairing the machine, secure stability loss, which in result may crush the operator, by
placing the mower on a stable ground and securing its setting by means of secured supports. If it is
necessary to access the machine from underneath, during a repair or adjustment, use proper locks
for lifted mower components.
Replace screws, v-belts, pins, bushings, discs, holders, knives, etc. if necessary.
Once the machine is repaired perform the following:
Make sure that all elements are installed properly,
Install the removed guards,
Check that all screws and nuts are tightened,
Check for proper clearance on pins and gears,
Once all the guards are installed, perform a warm-up start to make sure the repaired machine
operates properly.
9.2.
Disassembly and withdrawal from use
If the mower cannot be repaired any more, it should be withdrawn from use. For this purpose
oil from intersecting axis gear and the cutterbar should be drained and thoroughly clean any excess
oil with cleaning agent, take v-belts and any elements made of plastic. Deliver them to a proper
waste treatment company.
Remaining metal parts should be delivered to a breaker's yard. After that, the machine can be
scrapped.
CAUTION
When disassembling the machine pay particular attention to additional
dangers as crushing, cutting, wounding, concussion. Use proper tools and
personal protective equipment: protective gloves, clothing and shoes,
goggles, etc. Pay attention so that the machine works efficiently, and
therefore it is required to secure the machine with supports.
