Recommended rake setting – a) under normal operating conditions, b) when operating on an even
ground
slowly engage PTO clutch and wait until the rotors reach their rated speed 540 rpm,
engage tractor gear and drive slowly into the meadow. On flat meadows the operation can be
performed with any speed. If the meadow is uneven reduce speed.
5.8. Operation
On very uneven meadows, in order to promote the ground following, it is possible to replace
stiff connector
1
with linking chain
2
(
Fig. 20
). Stiff connector
1
must be used when tedder is
transported. When operating on a normal meadow connect the tedder by means of stiff connector
1
.
Fig. 20.
Setting of tedder when operating on major unevenness
Support chain 3 is designed for setting the machine constant operating height when tedding. It
makes the tedder proper operating adjustment and relieves the tractor hydraulic cylinder. Support
3
and adapting chain
2
should be adjusted so distance X, of finger in operating phase is between 1 to
1.57" above the ground as on
Fig. 20
. When operating do let the grass to be wound.
WARNING:
It is forbidden to lower the tedder tines below
0.4"
from the ground as this
may cause damages to the machine such as bending the arms, breaking the
linkage or the gear, faster wearing of the tines, damaging the turf and causing
contamination to the collected forage, etc.
