Faults and remedies
If faults should occur, check them using the following table:
Fault
Possible cause
Remedy
The green indi
cator light does
not illuminate
when switched
on.
Main switch before appliance
not turned on.
Turn on main switch.
There is no power supply at
all.
Inform the power supply company.
Mains fuse on site has
tripped.
Possible faults on the appliance must
be checked by an authorised Customer
Service agent. Reset the circuit
breaker.
The appliance is
switched on but
does not heat
up.
An upstream energy optimis
ing unit has not switched on
the heating.
Check the energy optimising unit.
The appliance is
not heating up
although the
green indicator
light is lit.
The safety temperature limiter
has tripped.
Heating reactivates automatically after
the overtemperature has lowered.
Have the appliance checked by the
customer service or a qualified electri
cian.
The appliance
switches off dur
ing use and
stops heating.
An acoustic sig
nal is heard.
The pressure in the steam
generator has exceeded the
permissible peak value of 0.65
bar. The safety pressure
switch switches the heating
off.
Once the overpressure falls below 0.65
bar the safety pressure switch automat
ically switches the heating back on. The
acoustic signal becomes mute.
Have the appliance checked by the
customer service or a qualified electri
cian.
Steam is escap
ing on the left-
hand side of the
appliance at
floor level.
The safety valve has re
sponded.
After the overpressure has reduced, the
overpressure valve automatically
closes.
Have the appliance checked by the
customer service or a qualified electri
cian.
The appliance
does not heat up
and the yellow
indicator light is
off.
The water level switch detects
a lower water level in the
steam generator.
Disconnect the appliance from the
power supply and notify the customer
service.
Have softened water refilled by autho
rised customer service.
The appliance is
switched on but
does not heat up
or only very
slowly. The yel
low indicator
lamp lights up.
Building fuse has tripped.
Have the appliance checked by the
customer service or a qualified electri
cian.
Heating element faulty.
Disconnect the appliance from the
power supply and notify the customer
service.
If the fault cannot be rectified:
