2.9 SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE
The terminal can be used for internal communications purposes. You can create short messages that will be displayed for one or more specific users, or
everyone in the company. The message will appear on the screen when the user identifies themselves to the terminal. Only the Super Admin user can
create these messages.
Create a new message:
By default a message will be shown on the screen for 60 seconds, unless a user presses
or
ESC
. To change this value, go to the Short Message
menu, select Message Options and Message Show Delay (s). Here you can set the value of your choice.
After this you need to define an expiration
time (in minutes) for the message. The value
of the expiration time can be set between
1minute to 65535 minutes. You can also
choose to display this message permanently
by setting the expiration time to ‘never’.
Select the message type. It can either be
a draft that is saved into the terminal, but
not displayed, or a public message, that will
be displayed to everyone clocking on the
terminal, or a personal message displayed
only to selected users.
