Deploying Secure Update Utility

Where to Deploy
The Secure Update Utility must be installed on the same system where the
Sentinel Key/distributor key is attached. This is because the hardware keys
cannot be updated over network. Be sure to modify your installation pro-
grams appropriately.
How to Deploy
Install the following items as a part of your application’s setup routine:
For Windows
■
SecureUpdateUtility.exe (available at: <installdir>\Secure Update\Secure
Update Utility )
■
SecureUpdate.dll (location same as the executable above)
■ .chm Help file (available at: <installdir>\Secure Update\Secure Update
Utility\Language packs\en_US )
Note: If you are shipping a .chm file, you may also need to ship hhupd.exe and
hhactivx.dll . Generally, these files reside in the \System directory of a Win-
dows system. Otherwise, these can downloaded from: <http://
msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/htmlhelp/html/
hwmicrosofthtmlhelpdownloads.asp>

For Linux

Secure Update Utility application (available at: <installdir>/
secure_update/SecureUpdateUtility ).

libSecureUpdate32.so (location same as the utility above)
■ HTML Help file (available at: <installdir>/secure_update/
SecureUpdateUtility/language_packs/en_US. You need to ship the
WEBHELP directory along with the index.htm file)
