Updating Keys Remotely
The HASP keys which come with the purchased licensed software store the details of the software
components the user is allowed to access. Sometimes, while working with the software product, you may
need to modify the license terms (e.g., acquire licenses to use additional components or features). In this case,
you can update the HASP key accordingly on your own.
To change the license terms, contact STC sales team to sign a new contract. Once done, you can perform the
necessary steps to update your key.
To update your key, use the
RUS Branding
utility which will be sent to you by our product lead as
soon as you have signed a new license agreement.
To update a
hardware key
, follow the steps below:
1.
Insert the HASP key into a USB port.
2.
RUS Branding
utility.
3.
Send an email with the
c2v
file attached to Speech Technology Center Support (for contact
). Our technical support engineer will send you a
.v2c
file containing
the license for the product in question.
4.
on the computer where the HASP is installed using the
RUS Branding
utility.
To update a
software key
, follow the steps below:
1.

2.
Send an email with the
c2v

file containing
the license for the product in question.

on the computer where the HASP is installed using the

Generating C2V File
Run the
RUS Branding
utility (
RUS_Branding_STC.exe
file sent to you by our product lead) on the computer
the key is installed on. Using the utility, generate a .
c2v
file containing a snapshot of the key.
On the
Collect Status Information
tab, select
Update of existing protection key
(Fig. 21).
