Keys, doors and windows

Trunk release handle

There is an emergency release han‐

dle located inside the load compart‐

ment above the latch of the tailgate.

Pull the handle to open the tailgate

from the inside.
The handle will glow following expo‐

sure to light.

Caution

The trunk release handle is not de‐

signed to be used to tie down the

trunk or as anchor point for secur‐

ing items in the trunk. Improper

use of the handle could damage it.

General hints for operating the

tailgate

Warning

Do not drive with the tailgate open

or ajar, e.g. when transporting

bulky objects, since toxic exhaust

gases, which can not be seen or

smelled, could enter the vehicle.

This can cause unconsciousness

and even death.

Notice

The installation of certain heavy ac‐

cessories onto the tailgate may af‐

fect its ability to remain open.
