4.3 INSTALLING THE SEATPOST COLLAR AND SHIM
9. Assemble the shim and top cap (4-G) (if it’s not pre-assembled), then install the shim against the front of the seat tube hole.
10. Install the seatpost and adjust to the desired height for proper leg extension. Cut the seatpost if necessary to achieve the proper leg extension.

Install the seat collar plate (4-H) and bolts.
12. Alternate the torque to the seat collar bolts, in 5 in-lbf (0.6 N*m) increments to ensure an even load distribution to the seat. Once complete, the gap
between the frame and the seat collar should be equal on both sides.
WARNING! The Shiv TT is equipped with a minimum insertion sight hole (fig.3). This is the minimum insertion required for the seatpost
and frame to remain structurally safe. All frame sizes require a minimum post insertion of 72mm, the seatpost MUST be visible through
the sight hole. Maximum insertion is 150mm, in many cases the seatpost will need to be cut to reach the desired leg extension.
TECH TIP: The use of a carbon-specific blade is recommended. A fine tooth blade (36 tooth minimum) is also acceptable. Apply light
pressure to cut the carbon, especially at the end of the cutting process to limit splinters. Clean the cut edge with a light pass of sandpaper.
TECH TIP: The application of carbon assembly compound (fiber paste) can increase friction between carbon surfaces. Please visit your
