Press the ON/OFF button. The fan will turn on and the
first gas valve will open. The LED will display solid red
and then then displays green when the burner is ready
to be ignited. The flashing green LED is a timer set for 10
seconds to allow the thermostat time to heat up to the
operating range after the burner is lit.
Press the electronic ignition button and the second valve
will open to the burner. Hold until the LED displays a solid
green. Release the igniter button and the burner should
remain lit.
NOTE:
If the burner doesn’t remain lit, wait 30 seconds
and repeat the starting steps, making sure the electronic
ignition button is pressed immediately after it begins flash-
ing green and held until the LED displays a solid green
to lock the gas valve in the on position. If it still fails to
ignite, check fuel level in the propane cylinder.
NOTE:
A solid red LED indicates a fault condition. Contact
Customer Service for assistance.
To stop:
Press the ON/OFF button. The heater will automatically
shut down.
Turn the handwheel on the propane cylinder to the fully
off position.
Remove the regulator and propane hose from the propane
cylinder and replace the cap on the cylinder.
Remove the power cord or battery from the unit.
To restart:
Allow the unit to cool for 5 minutes.
Follow the steps under
Starting/Stopping the Heater
.
NOTICE:
The unit may relight immediately if the ON/OFF button
is pressed less than 5 minutes after shutdown and the
gas valve hasn’t had sufficient time to cool completely.
Make sure the heater is placed in a safe position before
pressing the ON/OFF button.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
See Figure 8, page 14.
The temperature control knob controls the flow rate of the
propane for the variable heat output. The temperature control
adjusts from 30,000 to 60,000 BTU.
To increase the temperature, turn the temperature control
knob clockwise.
For a lower temperature, turn the temperature control
knob counterclockwise.
AUTO SHUT OFF
The gas valve will automatically shut off during any of the
following conditions:
Flame out
— If the propane tank is empty or the flame is
accidently extinguished.
Over temperature
— If the flow of air becomes blocked or
the temperature inside the unit is too high, the first valve
will automatically shut off and the LED will flash red. The
heater can be relit after the thermostat cools down.
NOTE:
A flashing red LED indicates an operation error.
Make sure air flow is not restricted. Turn off the unit and
restart.
Low voltage
— such as a power outage or a low battery.
Improper fan rotation
— If the fan is not rotating properly,
the unit will automatically shut off and the LED will display
solid red. The LED will remain solid red and the unit will
shut off before igniting if there is still an issue with the
fan. If the fan battery is drained, the system will shut off
the valve.
STORAGE
Always remove the propane cylinder, propane hose and
regulator, battery pack, and/or power cord from the unit when
storing. Reinstall the rubber protector cap to the propane
inlet to avoid damage and prevent debris or insects from
entering the gas line. Always store the unit indoors.
