IR Devices
Installing IR Receivers
Note: Make sure to connect all IR receivers and transmitters before turning the
SMC unit on so that these devices can be detected properly upon startup�
To install an IR receiver:
If the IR receiver is hard-wired to •
the control cable, plug the control
cable into IR Port In on the SMC’s
rear panel and place the IR receiver
in a location for easy line-of-sight
access by a remote control�
If the IR receiver is • not hard-wired
to the control cable, plug the control
cable into IR Port In on the SMC’s
rear panel and route the cable to
the IR receiver� Plug the other end
into the appropriate jack on the
receiver and place the receiver in a location where it allows an easy line of
access for a remote control�
Note: If necessary, use a piece of double-sided tape to hold the IR receiver
in place�
Test IR receiver operation by pointing the remote at the IR receiver and 7�
pressing a button�
