TV Sources
Note: If you connect a TV source to the NTSC Coaxial input on a tuner card,
you will be unable to use the S-Video input on that card, since they both
occupy the same space in Media Center�
To be able to use the S-Video input on that tuner card, you will need to
disconnect the TV source from the NTSC Coaxial input, and then go into
Media Center TV Signal Setup and reconfigure the NTSC setup for that
tuner card�
Digital Cable TV Connection for
CableCARD™
Important: Many cable providers require that a CableCARD™ be installed by
one of their technicians� Please check with the cable service provider
prior to installing a CableCARD™ yourself�
Installing and Activating a CableCARD™
Follow the steps below only if your cable TV provider has provided you with a
CableCARD™ and instructed you to activate it yourself� The activation procedure
for your cable TV provider may differ from these instructions—to help ensure a
trouble-free activation, follow instructions provided by your cable provider�
Write down the serial number located on the CableCARD™, and then insert 1�
the CableCARD™ into the Digital Cable Tuner�
Note:
If you have two Digital Cable Tuners that you want to use with
Windows Media Center, you can use a splitter to divide the TV signal
from the wall jack to the tuners� Each tuner must have a TV signal
connected to the TV

On the start screen, scroll to 2� Tasks , select Settings , select TV , and then
select Set Up TV Signal �
Follow the steps to set up a TV signal with a CableCARD™� 3�
When prompted, call your cable TV provider� Tell the representative that you 4�
want to activate a CableCARD™ installed on a Windows Vista Media Center
system and provide any requested information�
When the CableCARD™ is activated, configure Program Guide listings. 5�
Scroll to a� Tasks , scroll left and click Settings , click TV , and then click
Guide �
Click b� Set Up Guide Listings and follow the on-screen steps�
