Power supply overview

The Ruckus ICX 7650 switch supports alternating-current (AC) power supplies. The Ruckus ICX 7650 switch is capable of running on
one power supply and one fan. The second power supply and second fan provide redundancy.

If the second power supply and second fan slot are unused, you must cover them with filler panels.

NOTE

Ruckus recommends that the Ruckus ICX 7650 switch operates with two power supplies and two fan trays installed. If a power
supply or fan tray fails, it must be replaced as soon as possible.

The power supplies in the Ruckus ICX 7650 switch chassis can be removed and replaced without special tools. The device can continue
operating during the replacement.

The device supports the following types of power supplies:

•

AC power supply with nonport-side air exhaust. This unit moves the air from the port-side to the nonport-side of the device.

•

AC power supply with nonport-side air intake. This unit moves the air from the nonport-side to the port-side of the device.
