Hardware Use Cases for the Gateway
The N2E hardware has two different Network Interface options, Independent and Switch Mode. Below,
you can find the different use cases that each interface option allows for.
Independent Mode

Two Ethernet based protocols on the same IP Network

Ethernet Port 1 Used OR

Ethernet Port 2 Used OR

Ethernet Port 1 & 2 Used

Two Ethernet based protocols on different IP Networks

Switch Mode

Only Ethernet Port 1 is used for protocol communication

One Ethernet based protocol on the IP Network (layer-2 switch)

Ethernet Port 1 Used for direct protocol communication

Ethernet Port 2 available for Daisy-Chaining devices together

A Ring topology is NOT supported
