X8 Instruction Set Reference Manual

Using the High-Speed Counter and Programmable Limit Switch

• Overflow Interrupt executes

• PLC enters an executing mode

CountDirection

The CountDirection flag represents the HSC directions. When the HSC
accumulator counts up, the direction flag is set. Whenever the HSC
accumulator counts down, the direction flag is cleared.

If the accumulated value stops, the direction bit retains its value. The only time
the direction flag changes is when the accumulated count reverses.

This bit is updated continuously by the HSC s whenever the PLC is in a run
mode.

ModeDone

The ModeDone flag is set by the HSC when the HSC is configured for Mode
0 or Mode 1 behavior, and the accumulator counts up.

CountDown

The CountDown flag is used to increment or decrement a counter of the HSC
mode from 2 to 9. When the CountingEnabled Bit is set, the CountDown flag
is set.
