When your “Ultimate” V-Rake was delivered, set up, it
was in the transport position. Stabilizer bars are mounted
at the forward end to stabilize the front of the wings to
which the raking wheels are attached. This also stabilizes
the “toe in” on positioning wheels for transporting unit
at highway speeds.
IMPORTANT:
It is important that when rake is to be pulled down
highways for great distances at highway speeds that
the 48” cylinder which positions the positioning arms
is totally enclosed (Top Gauge is on ‘’0” and stabilizer
arms hooked to wings before transporting. It is also
a good idea that before pulling long distances, check
“toe in” by measuring front to front, rear to rear of
inner opposing positioning wheels (center tandem).
When going into the field position opera tor must
detach stabilizer bars from front of rake wings and
secure to the sides of the “A” Frame, which holds
the stabilizer bars. FAILURE TO DO SO CAN CAUSE
SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE STRUCTURE OF THE RAKE.
“A” Frame can then be lifted and secured with a
spring pin clevis assembly to bottom of center plat-
form. Four yellow stabilizer bars must be removed
from the cylinders before attempting to position
the rake into field position. These bars do not need
to be replaced when just moving from field to field
but can serve as a template to as sure rake is ready
for transport when unit is to be towed on pavement
roads a considerable distance.
