- To avoid injury, the upper end of the welding rod must be bent.
- Check the device, especially the screwed connections and hoses before each use for leaks and proper
condition.
If in doubt contact a qualified person or the service centre listed on the back cover of this manual.
- Never use a damaged device.
- Repairs may only be carried out at an authorised, qualified personnel. Ensure that only original
replacement parts are used.
- Use only approved replacement parts.
- Always start the assembly at the gas cylinder.
- The configuration of the device and settings made by the manufacturer may not be modified.
It can be
dangerous to carry out modifications to the device, to remove parts or to use parts that are not approved by the
manufacturer.
- Keep the device in a clean, dry and well-ventilated place, away from flammable and combustible
materials.
- Do not work in confined spaces and ensure adequate ventilation.
- Use the burner only at a clean workplace, well away from inflammable or oily materials.
- Do not use the device in the proximity of heat sources (radiator, oven, open fire or similar).
- Protect the gas cylinder from sunlight and never expose it to temperatures above 50 °C.
- Keep the device out of the reach of children.
- During transport and storage, the protective caps of the gas and oxygen cylinders must always be
fitted. The oxygen pressure reducer and gas control valve must be dismounted.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge.
- Please observe the minimum age for welding applicable in your area.
- Upon completion of soldering and welding work, always inspect the workplace at regular intervals
and keep extinguishers ready for incipient fires.
- Always use a heat-resistant surface.
- National laws and regulations for the handling of liquefied petroleum gas should be observed.
- Use the gas and oxygen cylinder only in a vertically standing position.
Ensure the stable position of the
device. Never place the device upside down or lay it down on the floor during operation.
- Handle the device carefully.
Avoid shocks or blows. Do not let the device tip over.
- The gas cylinder must never be exposed to heat.
- Pay attention to scorching of the hoses.
If necessary, replace the accessories immediately.
- Always switch the torch off before putting it down.
- Make sure that the mixing tube is always tightly screwed to the handle.
- Open the oxygen valve always slowly; otherwise, accumulated heat could arise.
- Always close the gas valves immediately upon sudden extinction of the flame (danger of flashback).
- Smoking is always prohibited when using the device (risk of explosion and burns).
In case of fire always close the oxygen cylinder first.
- Let the torch cool down before every restart.
- Close the gas valve immediately if there is a flashback. Open the oxygen valve to cool the handle,
mixing tube and nozzle. If necessary, mixing tube and welding nozzle must be dismounted and
cleaned (grease and oil-free).
- Caution! Refilling of disposable gas and oxygen cylinders is prohibited and constitutes an acute
hazard. Reusable cylinders must always be refilled at authorised companies. Improper refilling can
lead to serious accidents.
- Use only the described cylinders and cylinder components. The use of non-recommended cylinders
and cylinder components can be dangerous.
- Never connect a cylinder before reading the instructions printed on the cylinder.
- Make sure that closures or other joints are attached correctly and are undamaged.
After connecting,
check with leak detector spray or soapy water for leaks.
- Check the hoses for signs of damage.
- Shut the inlets to the device before connecting a cylinder.
- Connect the cylinder in a well-ventilated place, in an environment, where there is no flame or ignition
source, and which is not close to other people.
- Smoking is prohibited when replacing the cylinder.
