Maintenance

Refer to the following information for performing
maintenance on your AirCleaner

®

, restoring factory

defaults, or upgrading the software.

To Bypass AirCleaner

®

The system can be set into bypass mode for maintenance
or troubleshooting. This turns off all delays and routes
the inputs directly to the outputs.

Important:

Bypass rewrites the audio/video delay

buffers causing a momentary glitch on the audio/video
outputs. Depending on whether you are going into or
out of bypass, the video may freeze and the audio
mute.

Swing the clear plastic cover over the

MANUAL

BYPASS

button up and press the red button.

The

MANUAL BYPASS

button will light up, indicating

that bypass is active.

When the bypass relays are active, the PGM IN audio/
video is routed directly to PGM OUT with no delay in
the pathway. The menu parameters will not be active at
this time and the STEREO ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT
jack will not be active.

To Check the Model and Software
Version

Press both the

SELECT

and

SET

buttons at the same

time and release them.

The top line of the display shows the model and delay
cache of the system and the second line of the display
show the current version of software.

To Factory Default the System

All menus and settings can be returned to the settings
when the system left the factory.

1.

From the

Main Menu

, use the

SELECT

knob to

select

SET

knob.

To Upgrade the Software and
Firmware

To perform the upgrade you must FTP the files onto the
system and then run the upgrade using those files.

1.

Download the AirCleaner

®

fpga.bin

file from

the Ross Video website.

2.

Create an FTP connection to the AirCleaner

®

. The

user name is

root

and the password is

Netsilicon

.

3.

Copy the

fpga.bin

file to the root directory on

the AirCleaner

®

.

4.

Close the FTP connection.

Note:

The QUIT command resets the ethernet module.

Wait for 60 seconds and look for the green LED on the
ethernet port to start blinking.

5.

Open a web browser and navigate to the IP address
of the AirCleaner

®

.

6.

Click

Go to FPGA update Page

.

7.

Click

Program Xilinx Flash Utility

to start the

upgrade.

Important:

Do not remove power from the

system during the FPGA upgrade. The Xilinx
Flash programming takes about 35 minutes to
complete. Removing power from the system
during the upgrade will damage the hardware.

8.

When

Program Complete - Repower Unit

is shown on the webpage, it is safe to disconnect
power from the system.

9.

Wait for 15 seconds and reconnect power to the
system.

AirCleaner

®

will power on with the new software

installed.
