2.11 Stereo speakers
The display also offers 1 W stereo speakers with internal amplifier. PCs with RD-DVI functionality can
transport the audio signal via RD-DVI cable. The audio signal can also be transported via Combo Port.
Please note
: The interfaces are compatible to the USB 2.0 standard. However the USB up and down
stream to the PC is done with a single USB line. As the up and down stream bandwidth is shared be-
tween the 3 external USB interfaces, the touch screen and trackball it is unlikely that the maximum
transfer rate of USB 2.0 can be reached. This is not a defect but a physical limitation. The display doesn’t
offer KVM switching capabilities. If the display is connected to 2 PCs only the PC with connected USB
line can use the USB functions of the RD15 B.

: The audibility of the 1 W speakers may be limited in loud environments.
2.12 Invisible Mode (manual or wire contact)
The RD15 B is equipped with a manual and wire contact triggered Invisible Mode function. With the help
of this function the brightness of the display can immediately be set to a predefined value either via key-
stroke or wire contact trigger.
2.12.1 Manual Invisible Mode
To activate manual Invisible Mode simply press the brightness up and down buttons simultaneously.
To return to standard operating mode press the brightness up and down buttons simultaneously again.
When using manual Invisible Mode the backlight of the display will be deactivated completely.
2.12.2 Wire contact trigger Invisible Mode
The wire contact for the automatic wire contact trigger is part of the DC-In interface. To trigger the au-
tomatic Invisible Mode 18-32 V DC must be applied to the Invisible Mode pin. As soon as the voltage is
applied, the display automatically switches to Invisible Mode immediately without further user input. The
display switches back to standard operating mode if the contact is set to low again. When using wire con-
tact Invisible Mode the backlight will be set to predefined values.
2.12.3 Overview Invisible Mode trigger
• Wire contact low (no voltage applied): standard operating mode or NVIS
• Wire contact high (18-32 V): predefined Invisible Mode settings active
Please note
: Depending on application or deployment the Invisible Mode wire trigger function can
be inverted. This way the Invisible Mode will be triggered if the wire contact is set to low and cancelled
if 18-32 V are applied. Ask you system integrator or purchaser which version has been supplied.
