Handling the Waste

To unload the waste rack

If the MagNA Pure 96 Instrument uses an internal waste container, it is recommended that you drain it
after each run.

4.3

Cleaning

Perform the following steps after each purification run:

Cleaning the waste cover, see next section.

Check the waste container and drain it if necessary, see

Waste containers

Check and replace the drop catcher if necessary

To clean the waste cover

To check the drop catcher

Pull the waste rack all the way out of the stage.

Remove the waste cover and clean it, see section

To clean the waste cover

Decontamination/cleaning the waste cover may take a few hours, depending on the decontamina-
tion/cleaning reagents and procedures.

Discard the tip trays with the wasted tips according to local regulations.

Insert the waste rack back into the stage.

Open the load flap.

Carefully pull the waste rack out of the stage so as not to spill any liquid.

Transfer the waste cover into a processing cartridge that is not contaminated with biological samples.

Soak the waste cover in a tub containing a suitable disinfection/decontamination reagent, see chapter
"Maintenance and Care" in the "MagNA Pure 96 Operator’s Guide".

Do not autoclave the waste cover.

Finally, rinse the waste cover with distilled water and dry it.

Place the waste cover back in the waste rack.

Insert the waste rack back into the stage.

Check if the drop catcher is contaminated.

If there are any spills on the drop catcher, replace it.
