Loading the Stage
1.3 Loading the Stage
The software uses the sample information defined on the Orders sub-tab to calculate the volumes of iso-
lation reagents and the amount of disposables required. Use the Stage sub-tab as a guide to place the cor-
rect number of disposables and the correct number of reagent trays and bottles on the stage.
To avoid miscalculation of onboard time, only handle racks and reagents when the instrument is
switched on.
Gloves should be worn for all handling of isolation reagents and disposables, all manipulation steps in-
side the MagNA Pure 96 Instrument, and all manual pipetting steps.
When removing the racks from the instrument, the outline color of the individual racks on the ‘Stage’
sub-tab changes to yellow, indicating that the racks are not present. When you insert the racks back
again the outline color changes to blue.
The positions within a rack are counted from back to front, so that the rearmost position has the num-
ber 1.
To load the bottle rack
The bottle rack holds the bottled isolation reagents needed for the order defined on the Orders sub-tab
and the internal control tube. The Stage sub-tab displays the relevant reagent bottles to be placed in the
bottle rack.
Click the button. The Stage sub-tab opens with the requirements for the order just created.

Open the load flap of the MagNA Pure 96 Instrument.
Pull the bottle rack all the way out of the stage.
