Electrical Supply
A constant 400 volt 50 Hz three phase and Neutral supply is required for DualAir® models connected
to terminals L1,L2,L3, N & Earth. The full load current of the motor is 8.7Amps.
It is important that the polarity is correct as incorrect polarity will prevent the burner control box from
operating correctly. It is also important on these heaters that the voltage between N and Earth does
not exceed 15v.
All heaters and controls must be correctly earthed.
All external wiring must comply with the relevant IEE regulations and be carried out by a qualified
electrician.
An isolator with a contact separation of at least 3 mm on all poles should be installed adjacent to, but
not fixed to the heater to disconnect all supplies to the heater and where necessary to isolate any
remote control.
The final connection to the heater should be made in metal sleeved flexible cable or flexible conduit
to the main terminal block on the side of the heater using 1 sq. mm cable on all models.
3.9
Controls
The DualAir® unit is supplied with burner control and relays as shown in the wiring diagram Fig 5.1 to
5.8. The energy controls (times switch, temperature control etc.) are not provided with the DualAir®
unit but may be provided as optional equipment. The unit is designed to be controlled by a multi stage
thermostat/temperature control to provide at least two stages of cooling and one stage of heating.A
typical control to select would be similar to the Eberle KLRE 52561 which may be used as supplied or
with a remote sensor (extra).
As standard, DualAir® units are designed to operate with 230v AC controls. However, by special
order the controls can be specified to operate with 24v AC control outputs. Conversion instructions
are included on the Wiring Diagram (see Section 5).
The control relays built into the unit are also capable of operating change over dampers on the air
supply so as to provide an extra first stage of cooling with fresh air from outside and no condenser
operation. This is referred to as "free cooling". The damper units do not form part of the standard
package but are optional to be installed on site as part of the air duct installation.

Remote Controls
3.9.1.1
Burner Controls
The heaters are designed to be operated by controls installed remote from the heater. Any controls
intended to operate the burner must be voltage free contacts connected between terminals 2 & 3 of
the main terminal block on the side of the heater for 230v systems, or 24v input to Terminals 3 & 4 for
24v controls.
