Using the ‘where are you now’ feature
When Bike Trac is set to ‘armed’, it updates its position once every 4 hours with the Bike Trac servers
(unless of course the system is triggered or you go for a ride). If you have not used the bike and (hopefully)
you have not received an alert message, you may wish to manually update its position and not wait until
the next time it automatically updates. To do this, click on ‘Where are you now?’ within the information
box for your bike (number 11 on the Bike Trac portal overview above).
This feature has been installed on the system to give you that extra peace of mind. Figure 1.5 shows how
the ‘where are you now’ command confirmation is displayed. To remove the box and to continue using the
portal, you will need to click close.
Please note that if the Bike Trac unit does not communicate with the servers for 24 hours, you will receive
an alert asking you to check that it is functioning correctly. Which gives you peace of mind that if there is
something wrong you will be informed before its too late.
