HOW IT WORKS
When the mixture comes into contact with the cold surface of the Gel
Disc, small ice crystals form. These crystals are scraped away from the top
of the Gel Disc by the Mixing Paddle action. The ice crystals slowly build
up during the process thereby thickening the mixture into a hard
consistency. The time it takes to make the ice cream depends greatly on
the type of recipe, the chill time, and the temperature of the mixture.
Before using your ice cream maker for the first time it is good practice to
wash the Lid, Bucket, Mixing Paddle and Ingredient Scoop in warm
soapy water, rinse well, and dry thoroughly.
Make sure that the Gel Disc is completely dry before freezing. Place the
Gel Disc upside down in the freezer. (See Figure 2) Freeze Gel
Disc for a minimum of 24 hours. We recommend keeping the Gel Disc in
the freezer when not in use. Its compact size will take up a minimum
amount of freezer space and you will be able to make your favorite frozen
dessert at a moments notice!
NOTE: Place Gel Disc upside down.
