OPERATION

OVERLOAD PROTECTION

If the tool is forced or is overloaded, the power base will
automatically shut off, you will hear Tone 1 (three fast, high-
pitched beeps), and the Ready LED will flash red. To reset
the tool, release the trigger, then resume operation.

Do not

force the tool.

HIGH TEMPERATURE PROTECTION

If the tool or battery overheats, the tool will automatically shut
off, you will hear Tone 1 (three fast, high-pitched beeps), and
the Ready LED will light solid red. The Ready LED will turn
green when the tool is cool and ready to resume operation.
If the trigger is pulled before the tool has sufficiently cooled
the Ready LED will flash red and you will hear Tone 1 (three
fast, high-pitched beeps).

SELECTING BLADES

Selecting the correct type of blade is important in order to
obtain the best performance from the saw. Select the blade
based on the application and on the material you wish to
cut. Selecting the right blade will give you a smoother, faster
cut and prolong the life of the blade.
Blades with fewer teeth, 10 teeth per inch (TPI) are typically
used for cutting wood, while blades with more teeth are
better for cutting metal or plastic. We recommend 14 TPI for
plastics and soft metals and 18 TPI for hard metals.

INSTALLING/REMOVING BLADE

See Figure 2, page 9.

To install the blade:

Set the direction of rotation selector in the

OFF

 (center

lock) position to lock the switch trigger.

Remove the battery pack from the power base.



Rotate the blade clamp counterclockwise and hold to
open.



Insert the saw blade until it is fully seated.

NOTE:

The blade can be installed with teeth facing either

up or down.



Release the blade clamp to secure.

To remove the blade:



Rotate the blade clamp counter clockwise.



Remove the blade from the saw.

CHANGING POSITIONS OF THE SHOE
 ASSEMBLY

See Figures 3 - 4, page 9.

The length of the shoe is adjustable, and the pivot angle of
the shoe can be set to one of three positions.

To change length of the shoe assembly:

Set the direction of rotation selector in the

OFF

 (center

lock) position to lock the switch trigger.

Remove the battery pack from the power base.





Unlock the shoe release lever by pulling it downward.



Reposition the shoe assembly.



Lock the shoe release lever by pushing it toward the saw.



The shoe assembly will not lock into place if it is extended
too far. Make sure the shoe assembly is securely locked
before replacing the battery pack.

To change the pivot angle of the shoe assembly:

Set the direction of rotation selector in the

OFF

 (center

lock) position to lock the switch trigger.

Remove the battery pack from the power base.

Push the locking pin all the way to the right to loosen the

shoe.

Select the position you wish to use.

Push the locking pin all the way to the left until it clicks

back into locked position.

Make sure the shoe is securely locked before reinstalling

the battery pack.

TURNING THE SAW ON/OFF

See Figure 5, page 10.

Set the direction of rotation selector in the

OFF

 (center lock)

position to lock the switch trigger and help prevent accidental
starting when not in use.
Position the direction of rotation selector to the left or right
of the switch trigger for forward movement.

NOTE:

The saw head will only operate in forward movement.

Positioning the direction of rotation selector to the right will
not reverse the saw movement.

VARIABLE SPEED

The variable speed switch trigger delivers higher speed with
increased trigger pressure and lower speed with decreased
trigger pressure.

LED WORK LIGHT

See Figure 6, page 10.

The LED work light, located on the front of the saw head,
illuminates when either the switch trigger or the LED grip
light switch is depressed.
If the saw is not in use, the time-out feature will cause the
light to start fading and then shut off.
The LED work light illuminates only when there is a charged
battery pack in the power base and the saw head is cor-
rectly installed.

ORBITAL ACTION SELECTOR

See Figure 7, page 10.

Use the orbital action selector to select either a linear stroke
or orbital cutting action. A linear stroke is best for making
smooth cuts while orbital action is best for making a faster cut.



For linear cutting, turn the selector to the “OFF” position.



For orbital cutting action, turn the selector to the “ON”
position.
