8. Open the Air Bleed.
Loosen the oil tank cover a few turns whenever the splitter is being used.
Retighten this cover when you finished.
9. While operating under extremely low temperature, let the log splitter run under no load for
5~10minutes to preheat the hydraulic oil
10. Reminder:
- The log splitter is strictly designed for one-man operation. Never allow more than one person to
approach and work on the machine at the same time.
- Install the log splitter on its stand: do not put the log splitter on the ground. This position will force
you to bend down and approach the face near the machine, and risk being injured by debris or chips.
5.4- Placing the log on the splitter
Prepare the wood to be split by pre-cutting it to the maximum cutting capacity of the splitter and make
sure that the wood is cut straight.
Put the wood on the splitter so as not to endanger you (e.g. tripping hazard).
Set the log firmly on the log retaining plates and work table (4).
Make sure the log will not twist, rock or slip while being split.
Do not force the blade by splitting the log on the upper part. This will break the blade or damage the
machine.
5.5- Starting the log splitter
Switch on:
Press on switch (11).
The motor will run as long as you press the switch.
Switch Off:
Release switch (11)
Two-hand operation control
This log splitter is equipped with "ZHB" control system that
requires to be operated by both hands of the user:
- the right hand controls the pushbutton switch (11).
- the left hand controls the hydraulic control lever (1)
The log splitters will stop upon absence of either hand.
Only after both hands release the controls, the log pusher starts
to return backward to its starting position.
1. Press the On/Off switch (11). Wait a few seconds until the
engine reaches its operating speed and the pressure is
generated in the hydraulic pump.
2. Lower the control lever (1).
The ram pushes the log against the wedge. The log is split.
3. Release the control lever (1) and the switch (11), the ram returns to its initial position.
Never use the machine if the On/Off switch is not working properly.
Immediately have any damaged switch repaired or replaced by qualified personnel to avoid a danger.
5.6- Upon completion of work
Upon completing your work:
- Make sure that the ram travels back to its initial position,
- Unplug machine from power source,
- Tighten the bleed screw,
- Follow and respect the maintenance and cleaning instructions.
