10.1 Ethernet Connection, Set-up, and Reset
Web Browser GUI (Graphical User Interface)
The ASM utilizes an on board web server to provide web browser access to the GUI. This can be accessed connecting to the
ASM via a short Ethernet cable jumper from a laptop/notebook directly to the ASM or remotely via a TCP/IP network.
A standard Ethernet CAT5e jumper cable terminated with RJ45 connectors at either end is provided for convenience in the
packing box with the ASM. Plug one end of this Ethernet jumper cable into the ASM and the other end into your computer
Ethernet socket.
The following web browsers are compatible with the ASM GUI;
Internet Explorer 8
Firefox V3.6
Chrome V9
Safari V5.
IP Address
Initiate your web browser and type in the address field the following default address;
http://192.168.1.200 (ASM factory default address).
Connectivity to the ASM is suc
cessful when the following “Log In” page appears.
Should the web browser be unable to open this session, it may be necessary to set the IP address of your computer to an
address in the same IP range (i.e. 192.168.1.180).
This is done for example in Windows XP
™ in the following manner;
1. Select “Start” from status menu
2. Single click
– “Control Panel”
3. Double click
– “ Network Connections”
4. Double click -
“Local Area Connection”
5. In Local Area Connections Status box, single click th
e “Properties” button.
6. When the Local Area Connection Properties box opens, select only
the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” choice.
7. Click “Properties” button.
8. Click “Use the following IP address.

192.168.1.180
10. Enter next to
Subnet mask
255.255.255.0
11. Enter next to
Default gateway
192.168.1.254
12. Click “OK” to initiate changes.
NOTE:
There are documented issues with Internet Explorer
™ Version 10.
This may impact the presentation of some GUI features.
The use of an alternate web browser is recommended.
