FORWARD COUPLING

 

 

1. 

Connect the Service Monitor to the “

From Combiner

” port of the ASM coupler using the 50ohm cable, and the 50Ω 

termination to the “

To Antenna

” port of the coupler. 

2.  Set the Service Monitor signal generator to the correct frequency and modulation type for the channel being measured 

and adjust its output level for 0dBm. 

3.  Enter 40.0 dB into both the 

Forward Coupling

 and 

Reverse Coupling

 fields on the GUI. 

4.  Enter 0 dB into the 

Antenna Feeder

 field. 

5. 

Click the “

Apply

” button toward the upper right of the screen. 

6.  Go to the 

Status 

– Tx Port 1

 GUI screen and confirm that the displayed value for the channel is correct (i.e. 0dBm).   

7.  If it is not displaying correctly, return to the 

Calibration 

– Tx Port 1

 GUI screen and adjust the 

Forward Coupling

 value 

to correct the reading. 

8. 

Click the “

Apply

” button toward the upper right of the screen. 

9.  Repeat steps 6 to 8 until the 

Status 

– Tx Port 1 

displayed value is correct for the test frequency. 

 

REVERSE COUPLING

 

 

1.  Do not change the Service Monitor signal generator settings and test cable used. 
2. 

Move the Service Monitor signal generator cable to the “

To Antenna

” port of the coupler and the 50Ω termination to the 

From Combiner

” port of the coupler. 

3.  Go to the 

Status 

– Tx Port 1

 GUI screen and confirm that the displayed value for the channel is correct (i.e. 0dBm).   

4.  If it is not displaying correctly, return to the 

Calibration 

– Tx Port 1

 GUI screen and adjust the 

Reverse Coupling

 value 

to correct the reading. 

5. 

Click the “

Apply

” button toward the upper right of the screen. 

6.  Repeat steps 3 to 5 until the 

Status 

– Tx Port 1 

displayed value is correct for the test frequency. 

 

 
NOTE:

    Restore the connection of the cabling to/from the coupler for normal operation.
