RECOMMENDED CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
Calibration of the ASM allows system parameters such as coupling values,
interconnecting cable losses and system feeder losses to be programmed
into the ASM for optimum measurement accuracy.
Selecting each indented topic under the “Calibration” screen in the GUI will
display that item as a separate page.
The following calibration procedure is for “Tx Port 1” and its associated
coupler. The procedure for Tx Ports 2, 3 and 4 and their associated couplers
is identical.
The screen at left contains
all the necessary fields for the
calibration process.
Tx Port Calibration screen
To complete the calibration process the required Test Equipment includes;
Service Monitor capable of providing a 0dBm signal output using the
same modulation type used by the system, and as selected in the
Configuration
– Channels
GUI screens.
An accurate 50ohm load capable of handling the base station transmitter power.
A 50ohm cable, of known insertion loss, to connect between the Service
Monitor and the ASM coupler.
Note:
For the purpose of this calibration procedure description, the insertion loss of this 50ohm cable is assumed at
“0.6dB”. Adjust this value to accurately represent the cable actually being used.
Note:
For the purpose of this calibration procedure description, the insertion loss of the Antenna Feeder cable is
assumed at “0.0dB”. Adjust this value to accurately represent the actual loss of the antenna feeder installed on
site.
