Safety instructions
GB13
Never tackle obstacles higher than 10 cm on
n
your own. Only experienced users with sufficient
strength are generally capable of tackling obstacles
up to 10 cm in height.
Engage the brake on the wheelchair before getting
n
out of the chair or transferring from it.
Only use the brake to lock the stationary wheels.
n
The brake is not suitable for slowing the wheelchair
down.
Transporting the wheelchair
(see also page 18 for more information)
Fix the wheelchair in a taxibus with a four-point
n
securing system.
Use a three-point safety belt for the transport of
n
the wheelchair with user.
N.B.:
the wheelchair seat belt is not suitable
for use as a safety belt.
During transport of a wheelchair with user, the wheel-
chair must be fitted with a Matrixx headrest.
Slopes and other obstacles
(see also page 25 for more information)
The wheelchair is more likely to tip over on a slope
n
than on a level surface.
Always go off a pavement or step backwards to
n
prevent the wheelchair from leaning over forwards
and the user from falling out of it.
Never go down stairs with the wheelchair.
n
Never push the wheelchair up a slope with an
n
angle greater than 5o.
Ask somebody to help you if you are not sure
n
whether you can reach the top of the slope by
yourself.
