• Select the menu item that protects the current file from being overwritten to protect the
currently selected recording from accidental deletion.
• Select the menu item that protects all files from being overwritten to protect all saved recor-
dings from accidental deletion.
• Select the menu item to unlock an individual file to remove write protection for the currently
selected recording.
• Select the menu item to unlock all files to remove write protection for all saved recordings.
Functional description of the PIR sensor
• A PIR sensor does not detect the movement of an object, but heat change in the detection
area (for example, the movement of a warm animal on the cooler forest ground).
• Detection of an animal by a PIR sensor and successful recording of a photo or video de-
pend on several factors:
- Size and type of animal
- Heat emitted by the animal
- Distance of the animal from the camera
- Ambient temperature
- Speed at which the animal moves
• If the PIR sensor detects a heat change in the detection area, the wilderness camera is
activated. The wilderness camera starts photo/video recording.
Tips and notes
• Ensure that write protection on the memory card is disabled, otherwise photos/videos can-
not be saved.
• A movable lens may be seen inside the camera aperture. This serves as an IR filter and
is controlled automatically by the wilderness camera. A faint click may be heard when the
filter is tilted to the front.
a) Information on the memory card
• The performance of the memory card diminishes after very frequent use.
• If performance is lost, we recommend purchasing a new memory card.
• The memory card is a precise electronic medium. Do not bend the memory card and keep
it away from falling or heavy loads.
• Do not store the memory card close to strong electromagnetic or magnetic fields, such as
speakers and television receivers.
• Do not use or store the memory card at high or low temperatures.
• Keep the memory card clean and avoid any contact with liquid. If it does come into contact
with liquid, dry it with a soft cloth.
• If you are not using the memory card in the device, insert it into the card sleeve.
• Note that the memory card becomes hot after prolonged use. This is normal.
• Data on the memory card can be damaged in the following circumstances:
• Improper use of the memory card
• Disconnecting power or removing the memory card while recording, erasing, deleting or
reading
Care and cleaning
• Disconnect the product from the power supply before cleaning.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these
may damage the enclosure or cause the product to malfunction.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the interior of the product. If it is very dirty, use a cloth
slightly moistened with tap water to clean the outside.
• Clean the lens very carefully with a lens brush, otherwise you may scratch it.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable
regulatory guidelines.
Remove any inserted batteries and dispose of them separately from the product.
b) Battery information
You are required by law to return all used batteries (Battery Directive). They must not
be placed in household waste.
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with this symbol to indicate
that disposal in household waste is forbidden. The abbreviations for heavy metals
in batteries are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (indicated on the battery,
e.g. below the waste bin icon on the left).
Used batteries can be returned to local collection points, our stores or battery retailers.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
