Engine coolant level
Checking intervals:
Check your engine coolant level
regularly.
(Damage is likely to be
caused to the engine if there is
insufficient coolant.)
If topping up is required, only use
products approved by Renault's
Technical Department. This coolant
will provide:
- Anti-freeze protection
- Anti-corrosion protection of the
cooling system.
No operations may be
carried
out on the
cooling circuit when the
engine is hot.
Danger of burns.
Level
The level when cold should be
between the “MIN” and “MAX”
marks on the expansion bottle

Top this level up when cold before it
reaches the MIN mark.
Average capacities of oil change

Extreme conditions of use
which affect the engine cooling
system
(Towing a caravan or driving on
mountainous roads, steep gradients,
etc.)
Your vehicle is fitted with an
electric engine cooling fan. Do not
change down to a lower gear just to
help engine cooling by making the
engine rev faster; the engine cooling
fan is electrically controlled and
only operates when required to
stabilise the coolant temperature.
Take care when working in
the engine compartment as
the engine cooling fan may
start up at any moment.
