5.2. Fault:
Pressure display (20) lights red. Drive unit does not start on actuating the safety switch.
Cause:
Remedy:
● Pressure less than specifi ed (underpressure). “Sad smiley” appears in the
OLED display.
● Press right button (22) to confi rm the error message. The press fi tting made
could be useless. It is recommended to have the drive unit inspected/repaired
by an authorised REMS customer service workshop.
● Pressure greater than specifi ed (overpressure). “Sad smiley” appears in the
OLED display.
● Press right button (22) to confi rm the error message. Hold the reset key (12)
until the pressing rollers have fully retracted. The press fi tting made could be
useless. Have the drive unit inspected/repaired by an authorised REMS
customer service workshop.
● Error message appears in OLED display

5.3. Fault:
Radial press does not fi nish the pressing, pressing tongs, pressing ring, pressing segment do not close fully, cable shears do not cut through completely.
Cause:
Remedy:
● Battery fl at or defective
● Charge battery with rapid charger or change battery.
● Defective drive unit
● Have the drive unit inspected/repaired by an authorised REMS customer
service workshop.
● Wrong pressing tongs, wrong pressing ring (pressing contour, size) or
wrong adapter tongs, wrong cropping inserts inserted
● Check labelling of the pressing tongs, pressing ring, adapter tongs and
cropping inserts and change if necessary.
● Pressing tongs, pressing ring, adapter tongs sluggish or defective
● Do not continue using the pressing tongs, pressing ring, adapter tongs! Clean
and lightly grease the pressing tongs, pressing ring and adapter tongs with
machine oil or replace them with new ones.
● The LED of the pressure display (20) lights red and the sad smiley is shown
in the OLED display, see “3.1.3. Monitoring during Pressing and Making a
Voice Recording”.
● Have the drive unit inspected/repaired by an authorised REMS customer
service workshop. Repress the press fi tting if necessary or replace with a new
press fi tting. Observe the installation instructions of the press fi tting system.
● The strength class of the threaded bar is > 4.8 (400 N/mm
2
)
(REMS cropping tongs M).
● Note strength class of the threaded bars.
● Cropping inserts of the REMS cropping tongs or cable cutters of the REMS
cable shears are blunt.
● Turn or change cropping inserts/change cable cutters.
● Wrong Klauke pressing inserts inserted in the REMS Basic E01 pressing
tongs.
● Observe and follow the system supplier’s instructions, change pressing inserts
if necessary.
5.4. Fault:
A prominent burr is produced on the compression sleeve when closing the pressing tongs, pressing ring or pressing segments.
Cause:
Remedy:
● Damaged or worn pressing tongs, pressing ring, pressing segments or
pressing contour
● Replace pressing tongs, pressing ring with new one(s).
● Wrong pressing tongs, wrong pressing ring (pressing contour, size) or
wrong adapter tongs inserted
● Check labelling of the pressing tongs, pressing ring and adapter tongs and
change if necessary.
● Unsuitable matching of compression sleeve, pipe and support sleeve
● Check compatibility of the compression sleeve, pipe and support sleeve.
Observe the installation and assembly instructions of the manufacturer/supplier
of the press fi tting system to be pressed and contact them if necessary.
5.5. Fault:
Pressing jaws close without load on the pressing tongs offset at "A" and "B" (Fig. 1).
Cause:
Remedy:
● Pressing tongs fall to the fl oor, compression spring bent.
● Send the pressing tongs to an authorised REMS customer service workshop
for inspection.
5.6. Fault:
Formation of burr when cutting threaded bars (REMS M cropping tongs)
Cause:
Remedy:
● Cropping inserts of REMS cropping tongs are blunt or broken out.
● Turn or change cropping inserts.
● The strength class of the threaded bar is > 4.8 (400 N/mm
2
).
● Note strength class of the threaded bars.
5.7. Fault:
The date and time must be reset after switching on the device.
Cause:
Remedy:
● Button cell empty
● Change button cell (see “4.1.3. Changing the Button Cell”).
5.8. Fault:
Drive unit does not connect to the mobile terminating device hotspot entered under “other SSID”.
Cause:
Remedy:
● Hotspot on mobile terminating device deactivated
● Activate hotspot in the mobile terminating device’s control centre. Keep the
control centre open.
● Wi-Fi on mobile terminating device deactivated
● Activate Wi-Fi on mobile terminating device
● Unsuitable settings on the mobile terminating device
● Restart mobile terminating device.
● Deactivate eco-mode.
● Reset network settings.
● Bandwidth hotspot of the mobile terminating device set to 5 GHz
● Set bandwidth hotspot to 2.4 GHz.
● Battery capacity of mobile terminating device too low
● Check battery capacity of mobile terminating device and charge battery if
necessary.
● Hotspot deactivated due to inactivity of drive unit
● Switch drive unit back on and activate hotspot in the mobile terminating
device’s control centre. Keep the control centre open. Increase standby time of
the drive unit.
