13. FPV mode
a) General information
The quadcopter is standardly equipped with a camera that wirelessly transmits a live video signal to a suitable smart-
phone (not included). Pictures and videos are taken using an app installed on your smartphone. Pictures or videos
can be stored and edited on your smartphone.
In addition, the so-called "FPV operation" (FPV = "First Person View" = video image flying) is possible thanks to the
live transmission. The hand-held transmitter can be used to remotely adjust an angle of inclination of the camera by
approx. 70°.
The smartphone can be fixed in a special smartphone holder on the transmitter. To do this, mount the included
smartphone holder in the dedicated opening on the transmitter housing. Then insert your smartphone in the holder by
slightly pulling the holder apart.
Make sure that any side switches on the smartphone are facing upwards and are freely accessible for operation.
Warning!
Pure FPV operation increases the risk of accidents because you may not see obstacles or may not see
them in time due to the restricted camera image. As a general rule, when using FPV mode, the vehicle must
be monitored by a co-pilot who can warn you about potential hazards. It therefore requires a lot of practice
to fly in FPV operation. During the learning phase in particular, ensure that the selected flight area is free
of obstacles and far away from people, animals, buildings and roads.
To ensure the interference-free transmission of video signals, there should be no other transmitters in the
model's 2.4 GHz transmission range. The smartphone's "Bluetooth
®
" function must be disabled.
The FPV operation is basically also possible when the model is controlled by means of the smartphone
controls. However, the camera image is severely limited by the controls in the display (icons) as well as by
the fingers operating the controls.
