5. Product Description
The ready-to-fly racecopter (quadrocopter) has 4 separate motors that drive one propeller each. Concurrent accelera
-
tion of all propellers permits the racecopter to lift off of the ground and hover stably in the air at the corresponding
propeller speeds.
For stabilisation in flight, the racecopter has an elaborate electronics (CC3D flight controller) able to recognise uncon
-
trolled movements of the model and balance them out without delay. For the flight in a specific direction, the electron
-
ics in the model recognise the control impulses of the transmitter and change the speeds of the individual motors
accordingly. The racecopter then tilts in the desired direction and the lift thus acts as drive as well. The racecopter
flies in the respective direction.
Two propellers on the model turn clockwise and two turn counter-clockwise. By targeted speed change of the two
propeller groups against each other (right-ward rotating propellers turn a little faster and left-ward rotating propellers
turn a little more slowly or vice versa), it is possible that the racecopter can turn (yaw) while maintaining flight height
and position.
To better recognise the alignment of the model in flight, the two forward-pointing propellers are made of white plastic
and the two rear ones of black plastic.
A central electronics PCB (CC3D-flight controller) and the receiver already installed in the RtF-model (item no.
1407577) contains all components that are required for stabilisation and control of the racecopter. The 2.4 GHz radio
remote control installation (only for the RtF version) included in the delivery allows sensitive steering of the model.
For beginners, there is the option of setting the control sensitivity at the transmitter in two levels via a switch (two
pre-programmed flight phases for beginners and pros). At the front of the racecopter, there is a holder for a camera
(not enclosed, must be ordered separately. At the rear, there is space for an FPV transmitter (not enclosed, must be
ordered separately), which transfers the video signal of the camera to a ground station (consisting of a monitor or
video goggles).
With the 4-channel remote control "HT-4" enclosed in the RtF version, you also own a remote-control system that can
also be used for other models. If necessary, the remote control can also be used to control model vehicles, model
ships or simple 4-channel model helicopters (speed-controlled).
In the RtF-version, the receiver is already installed in the model and completely wired to the flight control. We recom
-
mend leaving the receiver in the model and using a separate receiver for other models that are to be operated with
this transmitter. This can be purchased via the Conrad item no. 1346399.
The four proportional control channels can be used to remote-control the different control functions independently of
each other. The ergonomic casing fits comfortably into your hand and allows for easy and safe operation of the model
and the transmitter.
For operation of the transmitter of the RtF version, 4 AA/Mignon batteries (e.g. Conrad item no. 652506, order 4x)
are required.
