8. Assembling the Model
Before assembling the model, please read each individual section carefully. The more complex construction stages are illustrated for better
understanding.
Please note that the numbers in the text always refer to the components in the illustration to the right.
Only carry out the steps described in the different sections if you have completely understood the procedure and know exactly what to observe.
a) Mounting the Elevator Holder and Thrust Rods
Push the elevator holder (1) from the tail boom of the fuselage (2).
Push the thrust rod for the elevator (3), as well as that of the rudder (4) into the
pre-fabricated slots of the tail boom from the rear.
The longer of the two thrust rods from the delivery is intended for rudder linkage
and must be inserted into the rear slot.
Both thrust rods have a Z-crank on one end that must point to the rear towards the
tail units.
Important!
When bonding the tail unit holder (1) later, ensure that no adhesive
enters the recesses, which would make the linkage sticky and hard
to move.
b) Mounting the Elevator Unit
In sequence, glue the rudder hinges to the dampening fin with a drop of superglue
and then to the elevator as shown in figure 3, item 1. Observe symmetrical
alignment to each other.
Then mount the elevator to the elevator holder (2) with two thread-cutting screws
2 x 6 mm. The holes required are provided ex works already.
Then hook the “Z” of the elevator linkage into the rudder horn (4) and mount it on
the dampening fin; see figure 3, item 5.
