NSTRUCTIONS
Your VCR can dub (copy) video material from another video device
(except the built-in DVD player). It can also output video and audio
signals for recording on other video or audio equipment. Audio/
video dubbing cannot be done separately.
1. Switch your VCR to the auxiliary input by repeatedly pressing
INPUT
, until
AV1 or AV2
appears on screen. AV1 and AV2 are
the INPUT jacks from the other video/audio equipment. (You
can also press
CHANNEL

on the player, or
CH +
or
CH
–
on the remote control.)
2. Begin recording on the dubbing VCR and playing on the source
VCR simultaneously.
Notes:
• When using special playback functions (Still Picture, Video
Search, Frame Advance, or Variable Slow Motion) during
dubbing, a blue screen may appear. Set
BLUE SCREEN
on the
dubbing VCR (for recording) to
OFF
. (See “Mode Selection” on
Page 17.)
• To use the TV as a monitor while dubbing, press
TV/VCR
on the
dubbing VCR to select VCR.
• Use an RCA pin-type connection cable (not supplied, available
from RadioShack) to connect the source VCR to the dubbing
VCR.
• Refer to the manual of the other VCR when dubbing a tape.
• If the source VCR is in monaural mode, connect the audio cable
to AUDIO-L on the dubbing VCR.

The Simple Recording Timer enables you to set the recording stop
time.
Make sure the clock is set before setting the Simple Recording Timer.
Example:
Recording a TV program in the SP mode. The program is
on Channel 2, ending at 9:50 AM. The present time is 8:43 AM.
1. Turn on the TV and select the video channel. (See “Setting the
Output Channel” on Page 16.)
2. Insert a cassette. The power turns on automatically and the VCR
POWER LED lights.
3. Press
TV/VCR
to select VCR. The VCR LED lights.
4. Set SAP to
ON,
to record an available second language. (See
“Setting the Output Channel” on Page 16.)
5. Press the number buttons or
CH +
or
CH –
, to select the desired
channel. (EX.:

6. Press
SP.EP
to set the recording speed (SP or EP). (EX.:

)
7. Press
REC
to begin recording. The REC LED lights.
8. Repeatedly press
REC
again to enter the Simple Recording
Timer mode. The TIMER LED lights and the recording stop time
appears. (EX.:
9:50 AM
)
Each time you press
REC
, the stop time increases by 10
minutes.
Note:
The recording stop time flashes for a few seconds before
the stop time is set.
9. When the stop time is reached, recording stops automatically
and the power turns off.
