8 LUBRICATION
8.6 ENGINE: END OF SEASON SERVICING
Change Engine Oil.
1. Warm up the engine first and then shut it
off. Remove oil drain plug from the
bottom of the crankcase and wipe it off.
2. Replace the drain plug and fill engine
with 3.2 litres of oil.
Change Engine Oil Filter.
1. Remove single-unit cartridge
2. Apply thin coat of oil to cartridge gasket
before installing.
3. Tighten filter by hand only.
4. Check for oil leaks around the cartridge
gasket after engine is started.
Change the fuel filters
1. Unscrew filter retaining ring from filter
head.
2. Remove water separator from filter and
discard filter.
3. Fit water separator to new filter and refit
filter to head.
4. Bleed air from system.
Change the air filter
1. Raise hopper.
2. Remove end cap of air filter cartridge.
3. Remove accumulated dust or dirt.
4. Remove filter element (pull straight out
firmly)
5. Install new filter element (press firmly
against rear shoulder)
6. Replace end cap and fasten with butterfly
nut
