7.8 WET SWEEPING
Your Pathfinder is perfectly capable of sweeping in wet
conditions, but common sense should be applied.
There is no point sweeping through large puddles or
areas of surface water. AVOID THESE.
We suggest throttle is increased to help lift wet items of
litter off the damp/wet surface.
Your windscreen wiper switch is located on the dash-
board as indicated.
7.9 DRY SWEEPING
Sweep as normal in dry weather conditions, for VERY
DUSTY conditions, as can be found when you first start
using your machine, the hopper filter will have to be
shaken at more regular intervals and the filter taken off
and cleaned more often.
NOTE 1) THE PATHFINDER 100DV IS NOT SUITABLE
FOR SWEEPING FINE POWDERS, CEMENT DUST,
PAPER DUST, ETC. UNLESS FITTED WITH A WATER
INJECTION SYSTEM
NOTE 2) IF YOUR PATHFINDER IS FITTED WITH A
SCREEN INSTEAD OF A FILTER IN THE HOPPER
THERE WILL BE NO FILTER SHAKER, THE ONLY
MAINTENANCE IS TO WASH THE SCREEN WITH A
HOSEPIPE ON A DAILY BASIS.
7.10 TO SHAKE FILTER
To maintain the best sweeping performance from your
Pathfinder 1000DV the dust filter (top of hopper) must
be kept clean. Shake filter at regular intervals during
the shift, depending on operational conditions:
1) Place side brush/vacuum lever in OFF posi
tion and allow turbine time to stop.
2) Depress filter shaker button for approx. 10-15
seconds.
3) Allow enough time for dust to settle in hopper
before engaging main broom/vacuum lever and
resuming sweeping
NOTE: IF A SCREEN FILTER IS FITTED THERE WILL
BE NO FILTER SHAKER AND IF THE SCREEN IS
BLOCKED WASH DOWN WITH A HOSEPIPE.
IMPORTANT .. DO NOT SHAKE FILTER WITH TUR-
BINE RUNNING.
7.11 EMPTYING HOPPER (HIGH TIP)
Check hopper to determine how full it is. When empty-
ing, position machine correctly at skip or suitable
container, turn off engine and apply handbrake.
Walk to back of machine and carefully open back door.
Turn ignition to ON position and depress hopper tilt
switch on main dashboard.
IMPORTANT .. DO NOT OPEN HOPPER DOOR WITH
TURBINE RUNNING.
7 OPERATION
DO NOT SHAKE FILTER WITH THE
BRUSHES OR TURBINE RUNNING.
