Installing a hard disk drive

13

Attaching the drive sled to the HDD

1. Obey the ESD procedures in

Electrostatic discharge on page 7

and make sure you are

adequately grounded.

2. Place the drive sled on a static-free surface with the retaining screw (screw head up) at the

left. See

Figure 2

.

3. Place the hard disk drive (HDD) component side down on the drive sled with the HDD

SAS/SATA connector at the right.

4. Hold the HDD and drive sled together and turn them upside down to access the screw

holes.

5. Screw the four supplied M3 screws through the sled holes shown in

Figure 2

and into the

corresponding holes on the HDD.

6. Turn the HDD and drive sled right-side up so the retaining screw head faces up.
