3. Set the switch on the bottom of the
console to
TONE
(touch-tone) or
PULSE
(rotary) dialing, based on the
type of service you have.
Important: If the friend or neighbor
whom you choose to accept calls
from your system does not have
touch-tone service, they need to use
a phone that has a tone-pulse
switch. They must send tones to
respond to the dialer’s message.
4. Fully extend the antenna and raise it
to a vertical position.
INITIALIZING THE CALL
PENDANT
After you connect the console, you must
initialize the call pendant so the console
recognizes the pendant’s commands.

on the call
pendant. The call pendant’s battery
indicator lights and the console
sounds a tone.

If you do not hear a tone, remove the
battery from the pendant (see “Testing
and Replacing the Call Pendant’s Bat-
tery” on Page 9). Put the battery back
into the pendant, press
EMERGENCY
CALL
, and check that the pendant’s bat-
tery indicator flashes twice. Then initial-
ize the call pendant.
You can use up to eight call pendants
with the console for additional security
or for family members. Repeat this pro-
cedure for each additional pendant.
