3. Set the switch on the bottom of the

console to

TONE

 (touch-tone) or

PULSE

 (rotary) dialing, based on the

type of service you have.

Important:  If the friend or neighbor
whom you choose to accept calls
from your system does not have
touch-tone service, they need to use
a phone that has a tone-pulse
switch. They must send tones to
respond to the dialer’s message.

4. Fully extend the antenna and raise it

to a vertical position.

INITIALIZING THE CALL
PENDANT

After you connect the console, you must
initialize the call pendant so the console
recognizes the pendant’s commands.

1. Set

Install/Run

 all the way to

Install

.

2. Press

EMERGENCY

CALL

 on the call

pendant. The call pendant’s battery
indicator lights and the console
sounds a tone.

3. Set

Install/Run

 to

Run

.

If you do not hear a tone, remove the
battery from the pendant (see “Testing
and Replacing the Call Pendant’s Bat-
tery” on Page 9). Put the battery back
into the pendant, press

EMERGENCY

CALL

, and check that the pendant’s bat-

tery indicator flashes twice. Then initial-
ize the call pendant.

You can use up to eight call pendants
with the console for additional security
or for family members. Repeat this pro-
cedure for each additional pendant.
