CHOOSING A LOCATION
Before connecting the console, look for
a location with these conditions in mind.
• Choose a location near a modular
phone line jack and an AC outlet
that is not controlled by a wall
switch.
• Think of the areas where you are
likely to use the call pendant, and
look for a location central to and
within about 50 feet of those areas.
• Because the console’s loud alarm
can be startling if it goes off while
you are nearby or in a small room,
you should place the console in an
open area, such as a living room.
• Try to place the console near a win-
dow, so neighbors are more likely to
hear the alarm.
CONNECTING THE
CONSOLE
Notes:
• The console connects to a modular
telephone line jack. If your phone
line jack is not modular, you can up-
date it yourself, using jacks and
adapters available at your local Ra-
dioShack store. Or, you can let the
phone company update it for you.
• The USOC number of the jack to be
installed is RJ11C.
1. Plug the supplied modular line cord
into the jack on the back of the con-
sole, and plug the other end into a
modular telephone line jack.
Note: If you do not have an open
jack, use the supplied 1-to-2 jack
adapter to connect the console and
a telephone to the same jack.
2. Plug the console into an AC outlet
that is not controlled by a wall
switch.
