Configure the unit as detailed in SETUP6.

Adjust trimmer R28, situated on the Audio Process card, to obtain
a reading of 0 dBm. Adjust R15 so that the first red led of the bar-
graph display switches on.

Configure the unit as detailed in SETUP7.

Put the bar-graph display selector in position x1 and inject a
carrier at the receiver’s operating frequency modulated by a 400Hz
tone with a deviation of ±75 KHz.
Check that the first red led switches on and if not, adjust R19
accordingly.

4)

Repeat the procedure detailed in note 3 to measure the MPX signal.
Carry out all the calibration procedures for the various parameters
and select a measurement other than SCA, MONO or MPX.
Select x10 on the Modmeter and inject a carrier at the receiver’s
operating frequency, modulated by a 400 Hz tone with ±7.5 KHz
deviation and re-check that the first red led of the bar-graph
display is switched on.
Adjust R4 if necessary.

5.8 CALIBRATION OF THE MODMETER CARD

For this procedure please refer to SETUP7.

1)

Inject a carrier at the receiver’s operating frequency, modulated
by a 400 Hz tone with 75 KHz deviation.

2)

Set the switch to the "x1" position.

3)

Adjust trimmer R30, situated on the Modmeter card, so that the

first

red led switches on (corresponding to the 100% mark).

4)

Set the switch to the "x10" position.
