8) Deviation meter check.
Set the modulation display gain (20 Fig.1) to 130% f.s.d.
Connect an audio analyzer to the MONO output (3 Fig.1).
Check that the bar-graph diaplay (18 Fig.1) lights up to the first
red led, indicating 100% deviation (equivalent to 75KHz).
With the DOT/BAR switch in the BAR position, all the green leds and
first red led will be on; in the DOT position only the first red
led will be on.
Check that the audio analyzer reads +13dBm.
This procedure should be followed first for the MONO output and then
for the MPX output.
9) Inject a signal with a level of -83dBm and adjust the MUTING trimmer
R2 (15 Fig.1) until the red muting led switches on. The audio signal
will be automatically disabled and the Modmeter bar-graph display
will go out.
Using a pair of headphones, check that the audio has indeed been
disabled and that no signal remains audible.
If the audio level rises, the MUTING led will go out and reception
will continue as before.
10) The correct functioning of the STEREO PRES. led can only be verified
if the optional Stereo Decoder is fitted.
Similarly, the SCA PRES. led can only be checked if an optional SCA
decoder is fitted and a SCA signal is being received.
