3) Inject a signal with the carrier at the receiver’s operating
frequency and modulated with 400 Hz at ±75 KHz deviation.
4) Adjust R8 to obtain a reading on the audio analyzer of +13 dBm for
the MONO input.
5) Now inject a 10 KHz signal with a deviation of 75 KHz.
Adjust R12 for a reading of 2.5 dBm for 50µs de-emphasis (-1dBm for
75µs de-emphasis).
6) Inject a carrier at the receiver’s operating frequency, modulated
by a 400 Hz tone with a deviation of ±75 KHz.
7) Check that the signal level is still +13 dBm and if not, adjust R8.
8) Use the Modmeter calibration procedure to ensure that the readings
are correct.
9) It is essential to calibrate the MONO signal before being able to
accurately measure MPX.
10) Configure the unit as detailed in SETUP4.
11) Insert the 15 KHz low-pass filter (7 Fig.1).
12) Adjust R18 to obtain a signal level of +13 dBm.
13) Disable the 15 KHz low-pass filter and adjust R15 for a signal level
of +13 dBm.
14) Configure the unit as detailed in SETUP5 (Fig.8) to measure
stereo separation.
