Step 2: Connecting with the computer
Connect the RIDA
®
ABSORBANCE 96 to a computer using the Micro-USB cable. Connect the
instrument directly to your computer and do not use an external USB hub. If the connection is
successful, the four signal lights light up one after the other.

Always use the included Micro-USB cable for the connection to your computer.
Warning!
The RIDA
®
ABSORBANCE 96 may only be operated at a USB port USB 2/
USB 3 with 5 VDC and a maximum of 3 A of a certificated computer (with
certification mark of an approved testing laboratory). Use an adapter cable on
USB 3.1 with type C plug connection, which ensures the profile 1: 5 V@2.0 A.
From Windows 98 drivers are available and have to be installed.
From Windows 8 drivers will be installed automatically (with internet connection).
If no connection between the RIDA
®
ABSORBANCE 96 and the computer is established,
install the driver for the USB connection. You can find it at:
https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
Step 3: Settings in the software
Open the RIDASOFT
®
Win.NET software and select "RIDA
®
ABSORBANCE 96" in the reader
settings (File – Reader Setup). Make sure that the following settings have been made:

Serial port: Serial port of the reader
•
Baud rate: 115200
•
Databits: 8
•
Parity: Non
•
Stop bits: 1
