INSTALLATION
ELECTRIC CONNECTIONS
The instrument meets EMC standards (electromagnetic compatibility) however correct installation is fundamental in order
not to compromise its performance as well as operation of the instruments found nearby.
For this reason, the instrument’s cables must be at least:
• 1 m away from cables that carry radio signals (except for SSB radio transmitters).
• 2 m away from cables that carry SSB radio transmitter radio signals.
Follow the rules given below when doing the electrical work for the instrument:
• Use the supplied wire or an UTP CAT5 patch-cord to connect the data interface (CANH and CANL signals) and instru-
ment power supply.
• The data cable cannot be more than 100 meters long.
Two RJ45 sockets for connecting the display to the battery charger and to the termination connector are present on the
back of the instrument.

Always connect the RDS 1562 remote display to the CAN OUT port of the battery charger.

The display is powered via the CAN OUT socket of the battery charger. Even in case the battery charger witn one o more
battery groups turns off, the RDS 1562 will continue displaying the output terminal voltage of the battery charger, if “monitor”
mode is activates, as it is powered by the battery group connected to the MASTER output (the needed current to power
the RDS 1562 is 50mA).
