Note: If your system is configured using network segmentation, you
must use the data segment IP address, not the management
segment IP address or hostname, to map CIFS shares or
manage the system. If the system is joined to an Active
Directory domain, you can use the Microsoft Management
Console (MMC) tool to manage shares and user or group
access. To do this, right-click the server name in MMC and click
Manage . The Computer Management console displays and
your system is connected for management. If your system uses
network segmentation, the connection will fail because the
system name is not resolved into the data segment IP address.
In this case you must specify the system using its data segment
IP address, not the hostname, by selecting the following option
in the Computer Management console: Action > Connect to
another computer > Another computer .
To perform segmented network configuration:
1 On the Network page, select the Segmented option (see
Figure 101 ).
