1.3.2 Memory

General Guidelines

This section discusses the requested memory configurations
and capacities that need to be supported for SNB –EP and IVB
–EP. The memory EVRD 12.0 and memory VTT VRD should be
sized to support ~90% peak bandwidth for the integrated mem-
ory controller 256 clock thermal window, this is approximately
11.5GB/sec/channel at DDR3 1600. For TDP purposes, an
active DIMM can be assumed to consume 18W.

Note:

IVB is scoping DDR3U (Ultra Low Power = 1.25V). DDR3U is
evolving and is being tracked by PMO and reported in the
Romley PXT, the direction for Intel is now on DDR3U enable-
ment and rather push for earlier DDR4 adoption (DDR4 will
not be supported on Romley products).
